WakeUP Submits Comments on Raleigh UDO

WakeUP Wake County's UDO team submitted comments and gave a public statement at the well-attended UDO public hearing on February 21st. Following the public hearing, the draft UDO will be reviewed by the Planning Commission, which return its recommendations back to Raleigh City Council no later than early June. WakeUP Submits Comments on Raleigh's New Development Code

A draft UDO was made available for public comment at the beginning of May. Recognizing the importance of the UDO for Raleigh's future, WakeUP Wake County convened a diverse group of individuals - representing environmental, transit, and affordable housing advocates and developers - to review the document and prepare comments.

Over the last 10 months, the City of Raleigh, several outside consultants and a UDO Advisory Group have been working on an initial draft of the City's new development regulations, aka the Unified Develpment Ordinance (UDO). On April 6, the initial consolidated draft of the UDO will be released. It will then be time for the public to let the City know what it thinks about the the initial draft of the UDO.
